Kabbalist Eliahu Leon
On Tikun Hatzot PDF Print E-mail

[For thirty years, the Kabbalist elder, Rabbi Eliahu Leon Levi, in lectures, writings, prayer gatherings, and tikunim all over Israel, has been warning of the dangers of immodesty and sexual wrongdoing. Central to his teachings is the importance of guarding one's eyes from gazing at forbidden images, including immodestly-dressed women, erotic magazines, movies, pornography on the Internet, and the like. In violating this Torah transgression of "not turning astray after one's heart and one's eyes," the individual causes great damage to himself and to spiritual worlds, polluting his soul, alienating himself from G-d, and spilling semen in vain. Excerpts from Rabbi Levi's writings on this subject have been translated and posted in this section.]

On Tikun Hatzot

by the revered Kabbalist, HaRav Eliyahu Leon Levi

Getting up at midnight is essential for every Jew, to weep and lament over the destruction of the Temple, and to afterward recite the praises of the Jewish People who are afflicted with great tribulation. My cherished friend, you should know that all of the sorrows that our holy Jewish People suffer in the violent and bitter exile, indescribable horrors and grave sicknesses that strike with a frightening constancy, and especially the carnage and murder of our time, all of this stems from the fact that we don’t feel in our hearts the need to rise at midnight to participate in the anguish of the Shechinah.

Alas at the shame and reproach when a mother is suffering and gravely ill, and her son sleeps peacefully in his bed, luxuriating in a deep slumber, not at all concerned with his mother’s plight. The behavior of a son like this towards his mother borders on a grave transgression, seeing that she slaved and sacrificed herself days and nights for his sake, in caring for all of his needs, and what is her reward? Close to nothing!

Guarding The Eyes

by the holy Kabbalist, Rabbi Eliahu Leon Levi, shlita
(Excerpted from his book, "Mishbatzot Zahav Livusha")

According to the secrets of Torah, the holy eyes of a person are situated in an exceedingly exalted and holy spiritual realm, the dwelling place of the holy light of the soul of the soul, called the light of the holy "Chiya." A great aspect of this holy light called Chiya is that it safeguards a person in both his spiritual and material affairs, at all times and in every manner.

Tikun Now!

(Excerpted from his book, "Tza'akat Yisrael")

Dear and Holy Jewish People:

In these difficult times when we find ourselves in a raging conflagration, the time has come to cry out to our Father in Heaven to ask that He bestow great mercy upon us, and upon all of the Nation of Israel, and grant us an everlasting salvation.

This is most particularly the case in our Holy Land, that no part or parcel of our Holy Land be given over to foreign peoples who rise up each morning to attack and draw blood from our dear brethren, the blessed Nation of G-d. They come with great cruelty, with no compassion toward the Jewish People, a people who has suffered so much terrible hardship.

Rectifying Anger

by the revered Kabbalist, HaRav Eliahu Leon Levi

You should know, my dear child, you have arrived into this world in order to rectify character traits that you blemished in your previous reincarnation. And you are obliged to do this work now, as quickly as possible, before our righteous redeemer comes – may it be soon.  Only in this manner will you reach the promised shore and be united with your Creator in the bonds of love, and thus merit to be called a friend and loved one to Hashem.

It is known the attribute of anger is at the head of the ladder of character traits demanding correction. A Jew is the pinnacle and foundation of creation, and anger is a most evil sickness that causes him to lose all of the noble things within him.

Rectifying anger is very difficult, requiring many days and nights of strenuous and painstaking work, but all to the good. In the majority of cases, this trait deceives you and has you believing that, “Baruch Hashem, I have finally mastered my temper, and thank G-d, I am not overly stringent with people and don’t get angry anymore. On the contrary, I control my emotions and almost resemble an angel, just like Hillel the Elder, may his name be for a blessing.”

Daughters of Israel

By Rabbi Eliahu Leon Levi, shilta
Excerpted from the book, “Mishbatzot Zahav Livusha”

Dear daughter of Israel, more precious than pearls, know that you embody within yourself a reflection of the highest spiritual worlds. Therefore, come and heed the word of G-d. Please be aware that the entire purpose of your marriage is to fulfill the commandment, “Be fruitful and multiply,” to bring children into the world, in order to raise and educate them in the path of the Torah and the commandments, and to lead them on the holy and time-honored path of spiritual elevation fostered by our holy Forefathers. It is precisely in fulfilling these precepts of having children and educating them properly, along with other holy commandments, that you will come to great reward in this world, and will merit the ever-multiplied reward which the Blessed One has prepared for you in the world to come.

Therefore, you should know, holy queen, righteous one, daughter of the Blessed One Holy Be He, that an unthinkable thing has occurred. Many young married women have postponed having children, so that they could live a life of great personal enjoyment after their weddings, without the disturbance of children. A few years later, when they felt that the time and circumstances were right for them to raise a family, time betrayed them. To be more exact, the Heavenly Court decreed otherwise, preventing them from having children because of various sexual transgressions performed with their husbands during the period they chose to remain barren, which caused a great wasting of semen, including engaging in unnatural relations, and having relations in immodest, brazen positions, all without shame, without reflecting for even a moment that the honor of G-d fills the world, and that He sees all of man’s doings. Therefore, these women were left barren all of their lives without the ability to bring offspring into the world.

Be Fruitful and Multiply!

by the revered Kabbalist, HaRav Eliyahu Leon Levi

“And G-d blessed them, and G-d said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill up the land.” (Bereshit, 1:28.)

The very first commandment of the Torah is the mitzvah “to be fruitful and multiply.” This obligation precedes all of the other commandments of the Torah.  For the Divine Presence does not descend to illuminate its earthy branches except through the decent of heavenly souls into this world. For this reason, a man must be fruitful and multiply, in order to bring celestial souls into this world. For when a soul is brought into this world, an exalted heavenly light spreads forth below. Thus, this is a very great mitzvah, immeasurable in its worth, and all other commandments are dwarfed beside it.

For this reason, a man who has not yet married and started a home, it is like he has not yet achieved anything. For this mitzvah is the foundation of the world, and all of the other commandments do not come to life except through this commandment, since everything else is dependent upon it, since through it all of the other commandments may be observed in all of their wholeness.

There is no way for any Jew in the world to ascend the ladder of holiness and to enter its inner chambers until he is married.
