Question:
First of all I wanted to thank you tremendously for the great Torah on your website that has helped me grow to the person I am today. I am still struggling tremendously with new challenges every day, but I get so much strength reading your Torah essays. One of the many challenges is on the one hand reading all this stuff pertaining to purifying my mind, which is helping me internalize the messages of keeping my mind pure, but it also sparks all these new inappropriate images going through my mind. Also I do not find myself able to follow instructions when you write only for married men or only for women. Youtube also is a tremendous problem for me since there are so many amazing Torah lectures there that give me so much love for Torah but every few weeks I somehow end up watching highly inappropriate Youtube videos. If you have any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
Answer:
Thank you for your feedback and yasher koach on your efforts and progress. While relapses often occur, don't let them bring you down - do tshuva again and again and keep going forward - that's the way the path of repentance is – yet always know that with every struggle there is great reward. Of course it is best to avoid temptations like Youtube. Installing a solid filter is highly advised, and make sure you don't know the code – either have a friend download the filter for you, or enter a long complicated code without writing it down so you don't remember it. On this site, don't read the stuff for married men or women if it bothers you. And of course, it's good to get married early – it’s the greatest blessing and tshuva there is.
