Kabbalists' Writings
Written by Rabbi Moshe Haim Lutzato
Tuesday, 31 October 2006

Excerpted from the classic treatise, “Mesillat Yesharim” written by the holy Kabbalist, Rabbi Moshe Haim Lutzato.
(Translation by Shraga Silverstein, Feldheim Publishers )

The idea behind the trait of Cleanliness is that a person be completely clean of bad traits and transgressions, not only those which are recognized as such, but also those which are rationalized, which, when we look into them honestly, we find to be sanctioned only because of the heart's still being partially afflicted by lust and not entirely free of it, so as to incline us  towards a relaxation of standards.

The man who is entirely free of this affliction, and clean of any trace of evil which lust leaves behind it, will come to possess perfectly clean vision and pure discrimination. He will not be swayed in any direction by desire, but will recognize as evil, and withdraw from every sin that he committed, though it were the slightest of the slight....

Written by By the revered Kabbalist and Tzaddik, HaRav Eliahu Leon Levi, shlita
Tuesday, 24 October 2006
(Including excerpts from the article, "Guarding the Laws of Shabbat," from the book, "Mishbetzot Zahav Livusha")

My precious child of Israel, the treasure of my heart, it is my fondest wish to assist you in being loved by the Almighty, to help you attain the true life in this world and in the world to come. May you ever rise higher in the service of the Blessed One, and thus draw down upon yourself abundant blessing. In this way, you will bring endless goodness to all of the worlds and to our nation, the nation of G-d, the House of Israel. By achieving this status, you will merit to be called, "Israel, in whom I shall be lauded."

Kabbalists' Writings
Written by Tzvi Fishman
Tuesday, 05 September 2006

[For thirty years, the Kabbalist elder, Rabbi Eliahu Leon Levi, in lectures, writings, prayer gatherings, and tikunim all over Israel, has been warning of the dangers of immodesty and sexual wrongdoing. Central to his teachings is the importance of guarding one's eyes from gazing at forbidden images, including immodestly-dressed women, erotic magazines, movies, pornography on the Internet, and the like. In violating this Torah transgression of "not turning astray after one's heart and one's eyes," the individual causes great damage to himself and to spiritual worlds, polluting his soul, alienating himself from G-d, and spilling semen in vain. Excerpts from Rabbi Levi's writings on this subject have been translated and posted in this section.]

Guarding The Eyes

by the holy Kabbalist, Rabbi Eliahu Leon Levi, shlita
(Excerpted from his book, "Mishbatzot Zahav Livusha")

According to the secrets of Torah, the holy eyes of a person are situated in an exceedingly exalted and holy spiritual realm, the dwelling place of the holy light of the soul of the soul, called the light of the holy "Chiya." A great aspect of this holy light called Chiya is that it safeguards a person in both his spiritual and material affairs, at all times and in every manner.

The Battle Against Sexual Fantasies

Excerpted from the Tanya, Chapter 27, by the first Admore of Chabad, the Baal HaTanya, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi.

“However, should the sadness (in serving G-d) not stem from worry over sins, but from evil thoughts and desires that enter his mind – if they appear not during Divine Service but while he is occupied with his own affairs and with everyday matters, he should, on the contrary, be happy in his portion that, though they enter his mind, he averts his mind from them in order to fulfil the obligation, That you seek not after your own heart and your eyes which lead you astray (Bamidbar, 15:39).

Tikun Habrit According to the Abir Yaacov

By the holy Kabbalist, Rabbi Yaacov Abuchatzera, AKA the Abir Yaacov

 LEARNING TORAH
The letters of the first word of the Torah, Berashit, can be rearranged to spell Brit Aesh, meaning a Brit of Fire. [ברית אש]This comes to hint that for someone who has blemished the sign of the holy Brit, the most beneficial and powerful tikun is to study Torah. There is in this path of repentance an atonement that matches the sin. For he has heated himself in the fire of his evil inclination; and now, in order to rectify, he must come and heat himself in the fire of the Torah. Furthermore, he blemished the Brit, and the Torah is also called Brit – may one Brit come and atone for the other. In addition, the Brit is called tov, and the Torah is called tov –made one tov come and atone for the other.

On Tikun Hatzot

by the revered Kabbalist, HaRav Eliyahu Leon Levi

Getting up at midnight is essential for every Jew, to weep and lament over the destruction of the Temple, and to afterward recite the praises of the Jewish People who are afflicted with great tribulation. My cherished friend, you should know that all of the sorrows that our holy Jewish People suffer in the violent and bitter exile, indescribable horrors and grave sicknesses that strike with a frightening constancy, and especially the carnage and murder of our time, all of this stems from the fact that we don’t feel in our hearts the need to rise at midnight to participate in the anguish of the Shechinah.

Alas at the shame and reproach when a mother is suffering and gravely ill, and her son sleeps peacefully in his bed, luxuriating in a deep slumber, not at all concerned with his mother’s plight. The behavior of a son like this towards his mother borders on a grave transgression, seeing that she slaved and sacrificed herself days and nights for his sake, in caring for all of his needs, and what is her reward? Close to nothing!
